22 February 2025: FPC Conference, Birmingham
The 10th annual FPC Conference will take place at RCSEd’s Birmingham location. The conference is aimed at all perioperative care practitioners (PCP) and surgeons who work with advanced practitioners. The one-day course will take PCPs and surgical first assistants through methods to improve their intra-operative performance and enable them to observe and rate intra-operative non-technical skills. Attendees are also permitted to attend the Perioperative Care Practitioners Intraoperative Non-Technical Skills Course, taking place the day before.
15 March 2025: Surgical Skills Competition final, Edinburgh
The grand final of the 2024/25 Surgical Skills Competition will be held at RCSEd’s headquarters on 15 March. In the first round of the competition, entrants took part in an online quiz and the five highest-scoring participants from each medical school were selected. The second round involved a skills kit video. On 15 March, the finalists will be given the chance to compete against and learn with their peers from other medical schools.
31 March–1 April: International Conference on Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine and Golf, Edinburgh
Join us in the heart of Edinburgh for the Third International Conference on Golf and Health, held this year in conjunction with the Second International Edinburgh Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Conference. This two-day event merges two prominent conferences to offer a comprehensive exploration of health, sport and orthopaedic advancements.
4-6 June 2025: Triennial and ICOSET Conference, Edinburgh
The Triennial and ICOSET Conference (see page 12) is open to professionals from all surgical and dental disciplines, ranging from medical students to those working at consultant or attendant level. It will take place at RCSEd headquarters in Edinburgh. The conference will feature talks, a debate and networking opportunities to enable attendees to collaborate and share knowledge.
